I got my PICC line removed last Thursday and I feel like a new woman! It's been seven weeks since it was inserted and I've been attached to an IV pole for about two hours, twice a day since then. Terry and I went out to eat to celebrate and I didn't have to be home in time for my infusion. It feels wonderful! I keep dancing around singing, "I don't have tubes in my arm anymore!" It probably seems like a small thing to most people but I don't like being confined in any way and this felt like some serious confinement.
My lab results on the bone infection are still slightly elevated but the doctor says we're going to "let the body heal itself" for the next couple of weeks. I'm just glad to be off antibiotics for the first time in three months.
